A '''punishment suit''' is a device intended to render someone immobile and helpless.  It consists of a [[straitjacket]] combined with a [[leg sheath]]. Canvas punishment suits appear to be in use by some prison authorities to restrain inmates (see link to pictures below). They also feature quite frequently in [[BDSM]] fiction where they tend to be constructed of, unsurprisingly, [[leather (material)|leather]] and [[rubber]] and are of great complexity. In the real world they are less common.
