A punishment suit is a device intended to render someone immobile and helpless. It consists of a straitjacket combined with a leg sheath. Canvas punishment suits appear to be in use by some prison authorities to restrain inmates (see link to pictures below). They also feature quite frequently in BDSM fiction where they tend to be constructed of, unsurprisingly, leather and rubber and are of great complexity. In the real world they are less common.
