The fetish club offers people the chance to explore their own sexuality, but at the same time there are rules and codes of conduct for behaviour. The main rules are that touching anyone else without permission, or any form of harassment is strictly forbidden. Fetish clubs provide a venue for many different ideas and practices; prejudices should not be brought into the club, and making assumptions about other people is not recommended.

Etiquette is especially important in the playroom. Be considerate at all times, and be careful where you stand or walk. If people are using the equipment the last thing they want is someone being hurt accidently.

Although interaction between players and watchers is not banned, don't assume that because someone is playing they will want you to join in. Fetish clubs are not singles nights, they are usually attended by couples or groups. If you spend some time watching, you will see that some couples are happier left alone, while other players are keen for others to join in. Always ask politely and accept a 'no' when you hear it, as others will give you the same privilege. Don't assume that just because women are dressed in extremely sexual clothing that they will automatically wish you to touch/proposition/have sex with them: some will; some won't - just don't make assumptions.

With a D/s couple, it is good etiquette to ask the Dom/me if you can join in/touch/whatever rather than speaking to the slave/sub directly.

Goddess

The femdom nightclub Goddess has a great guide to the basics of club etiquette on its website. I think the thing to bear in mind is would what you are about to do be acceptable behaviour at work/ in the pub? If not, it probably isn't in a fetish club. Just because someone is dressed provocatively doesn't mean you can touch them. Nor does the fact that someone is playing with someone else mean they have to play with you.
