File:Battle-sexes-symbols.png
Some proposed symbols of dominance between the sexes in heterosexual relationships. At upper right: a symbol of female domination using semi-irregularly shaped "planetary" signs of the sexes (Mars and Venus symbols), specifically appropriate for indicating female control over male sexuality. At left: a symbol for so-called "Love patriarchy" (a pseudo-3D Mars heart over a pseudo-3D Venus heart, the two interlinked). The most basic interpretation of "Love patriarchy" is that in the context of a relationship or marriage between a man and a woman, the woman chooses to defer to the man's authority in many day-to-day matters (usually including when to have sex), but the man is pledged to use such authority only in the spirit of love and protection. At lower right: A semi-jocular "pussy-whipped" symbol (i.e. a relationship between a man and a women, in which she has the power to choose, if she wishes, to reward him with pleasure only when, in her sole judgement, he has been diligent in pleasing her, both sexually and non-sexually -- see Image:Proudly-pussy-whipped.jpg).
