Summary
Some personal artistic interpretations of Gorean slave brands, based on the verbal descriptions in the Gor series of science fiction novels by John Norman. At left, two variants of the kajira Kef brand (female), or "staff and fronds" symbol. At center-right, three variants of the quasi-floral dina female brand are shown below a version of the kajirus Kef (male) brand. These Kef versions are shown in the red color suitable for when a Kef shape is used ornamentally (as described in the Gor books). At right, a kajira Kef variant made by a narrow (constant-width) wire; this design was intended to possibly produce moderately acceptable results even with relatively crude branding techniques (while many other designs would require more highly-sophisticated techniques than are usually seen -- or than are described in the Gor books -- in order to produce consistent results, or are more suited to tattooing than to branding).
For larger individual versions of two of these symbols, see Image:Kajira-kef.png and Image:Gor-Dina-symbol.png . For other variants, see File:Gorean-kajira-kef-variants.png . For further description and explanation, see those image pages and/or the appropriate entries in article Gor - Dictionary.
