Summary

A dynamic dance-notation diagram of three successive actions which are common preliminaries to the Gorean serving position. The cup or goblet is shown at the right of the diagram, but is grasped with both hands in front of her body while she kneels in basic "nadu" (with her knees separated and torso vertical over her upturned heels), as described in the article. From bottom to top, the cup is first pressed against her abdomen, then touched to her breasts, then held to her lips to be kissed (though the specific action of kissing is not indicated in the diagram). These are the three most commonly used pre-serving gestures in the Gor novels (often occuring singly or two together as required by a kajira's master, while all three are together in the full ritual as recounted in book 29, chapter 3 and book 28, chapter 11), but not the only possibilities. For a static diagram of kissing the cup only (the most common pre-serving gesture of all), see File:Labanotation-Gorean-pre-serving-kiss-cup.png. For a diagram of the actual serving position itself, see File:Labanotation-Gorean-serving.png.
