Fire is used in varying ways within Sadomasochism.
Cigarettes and cigars are sometimes used during an S&M scene, even by non-smokers.
Some masochists find that being brushed by the hot tip of a cigarette against the skin by their lover is wonderful. Although it can be mutilating, some experience great pleasure when their lover stubs a cigarette out on their nipple.
The use of an acetylene torch or other welding equipment is not unheard of, particularly when used to gently scorch away one's pubes and otherwise ignite the genitalia. (I am not making this up.)
