Hair bondage is a technique used in BDSM play which involves the restraint of a person's head by use of their long hair.
A rope or leather strap is secured to long hair that has been woven into a pigtail or ponytail. This rope is then fixed to another item of bondage, such as elbow bondage, a wrist tie, the rear of a belt or corset, a knee tie, an ankle tie or a big toe tie. The rope is pulled, forcing the tied person's head backwards.
As with any bondage technique, it is possible to hurt and cause injury to the bound person if care is not used. Prolonged hair bondage often causes headaches and stiff necks.
