I am not sure what the "Search the web bondage" link has to do with Bondage safety. Could Abigil explain or should we remove it? Balzac 00:45, 28 May 2005 (BST)

Remove The same link is on Abigil's user page and my guess is that this is simply a mild form of spamming. If Abigil actually contributed some content, I might be more sympathetic to having a link. Even then, it would belong on Bondage, not this page. (I have no issue with suitable links on User pages.) --Interesdom 13:01, 28 May 2005 (BST)

question

I am a curious sub just beginning to discover this aspect of myself and my interest in BDSM, but I have a few concerns regarding my personal safety. I have a number of serious medical conditions that I am afraid would affect my ability to perform in BDSM play, namely Postural Ortheostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), a severe expression of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hypermobile type), and mild-moderate (depending on any given day) cerebral palsy, among other conditions. My joints dislocate with extreme ease, especially my shoulders, hips, and knees, even when performing normal everyday activities like lifting a slightly heavy box. My POTS causes a risk of loss of consciousness caused by low blood pressure and bad circulation [caused in turn by the condition] if I remain in one position for too long (sitting in a chair or standing up also can cause fainting for me, as can things like squatting.) My cerebral palsy also aids the frequency of my joint dislocations, and often causes involuntary movement and spasms. I am afraid that this might irritate a partner who wishes me to be still, when I am not able to fulfill that request. I am also afraid it might lead to injury. Is it wise for me to pursue BDSM play, or to eventually experiment in a House environment? What about finding a prospective dom in the future - what should I look for, seeing as my partner would have to treat me differently (more gently, despite a high pain tolerance) than he or she (I am comfortable with having a partner of either gender) treated other subs in the past? Advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. --Kissthewhip 16:43, 24 December 2010 (UTC)

You might get better results asking on a web-board or forum site; this site is not really set up for general discussion, or to give customized individual advice. However, caution would certainly seem to be indicated... AnonMoos 05:39, 25 December 2010 (UTC)
I've now done so. Thank you for your recommendation. :) --Kissthewhip 19:05, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
