Almost certainly a hoax, but I see no harm in it otherwise :-) Balzac 15:33, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

It seems rather bizarre to me -- a facetious joke pseudo-theory dreamed up to "explain" the broken-off arms of Venus de Milo statues taken up by an amputation fetishist, or something like that... AnonMoos 17:51, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Added a quote from the Classical author Strabo and removed the hoax tag. Fflidge 16:29, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Found no support for this article at the Perseus on-line Classics site

I'm using the search form at [1], and I'm coming up with zero hits on tetrakormidai, tetracormidae, maioniai, or maeoniae. Furthermore, according to [2], Strabo's Book 7 seems to be divided into fewer than 59 chapters. Furthermore, a search of the Scott and Liddell lexicon turns up zero results for Tetrakormidai and also turns up no signicant results for Maioniai.

Given all this, and the article's particular history, the burden of proof really seems to be on User:Fflidge to provide some form of documentable verifiable evidence for the article to stay on Wipipedia... AnonMoos 17:09, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

A Google search seems to turn up quite a lot, including this site and the same editor/author's entry on the PaganWiki. Notwithstanding that I think there may be some substance to the topic, I don't see that it is particularly related to BDSM/fetish other than what it is not (and there a great deal in that category!). I think we should delete. --Interesdom 09:35, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
