Pioneer
This person is a Pioneer
and major contributor
to the BDSM Community.

I am the founder of the BackDrop Club (a BDSM club in the San Francisco Bay Area) which began more than 40 (yes, forty) years ago. I was Jay Wiseman's (SM-101 author) "first teacher" and am considered by most to be the father of the "relatively Het" portion of the BDSM scene in the Bay Area. (Many of the Pro Doms and organizations in the Bay Area got their start at BackDrop.)

I have been working as a fetish and bondage photographer since 1957, having been published in many bondage magazines. My career as a "bondage rigger" (although the name hadn't been invented yet!) began in stills with Irving Klaw (1957) and in films with Alex deRenzy's "Femmes de Sade" (1974)

I started writing bondage erotica in 1957, and published "Party-Lines Newsletter" (1966 - current) and "Common Bonds Magazine" (1973 - 2003). Our first BBS was online in 1986 using Mustang! software.

I am currently working on the SM-201 Project and currently maintain a 15,000 volume BDSM/fetish library. I also regularly contribute both BDSM and electronic technical articles to Wikipedia.

I also founded the BDSM Icons and Legends Projects in 2005.
