+ | You raise a good question. We have quite a few articles here that were originally copied from Wikipedia. There is merit in doing this rather than just linking to them:
+ | |||
+ | * Articles often get deleted on Wikipedia, such as Box tie, Elbow bondage, Lotus tie, Furvert,
+ | Yiffstar, Trampling fetishism ...
+ | * As you say, there is often vandalism; there is often also ill-informed editing.
+ | * We can re-write articles to reflect the ethos of the site and omit what we regard as irrelevant material.
+ | |||
+ | Thus I would suggest copying over the article including photos. This does as you say have the disadvantage of freezing the article, but if it is a mature article that should not be a serious issue. Ideally someone should then monitor the WP article to pick up major improvements. [[User:Ropeuser|Ropeuser]] 11:29, 14 July 2009 (UTC) |

Cosplay and other Wikipedia articles
You raise a good question. We have quite a few articles here that were originally copied from Wikipedia. There is merit in doing this rather than just linking to them:
- Articles often get deleted on Wikipedia, such as Box tie, Elbow bondage, Lotus tie, Furvert,
Yiffstar, Trampling fetishism ...
- As you say, there is often vandalism; there is often also ill-informed editing.
- We can re-write articles to reflect the ethos of the site and omit what we regard as irrelevant material.
Thus I would suggest copying over the article including photos. This does as you say have the disadvantage of freezing the article, but if it is a mature article that should not be a serious issue. Ideally someone should then monitor the WP article to pick up major improvements. Ropeuser 11:29, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
