Xet is a non-commercial Danish BDSM community founded april 10th 2005.

Xet, in Danish meaning "the X", took it's name from the many forms of "X" that are part of BDSM, from St Andrews cross or Cross Dressing to many many other meanings..

Xet is most of all about freedom to play in a safe BDSM environment for/with consenting adults. Xet is also about freedom to speak and interfere - much alike the democratic principles surrounding us.

Some or all of the founding members have experienced difficulties in keeping the constructive force in some BDSM communities. Since we are all more or less into some form of Dominance, this may all be very natural and understandable, but it is nonetheless both hard to accept for many of us and also hard to keep the community together for long.

The community structure of Xet is flat and each and every member has equal access to a discussion board, the X-board, where any and every oppinion is allowed. The concept is that it is not everyone that has access to the X-board, but once inside you are free to express anything, allowed under the law as it is.

Xet.dk is an integral part of the concept of having an open environment for discussion and exchange of ideas. It was important when founding the community in 2004-2005 that there be no closing down the flow of information based on unfounded fears of indiscression. The system seems to work, much alike the web in general, so that more people enter into discussion or are at least updated on the events and discussions. This is a vast improvement in the experience of many of us that founded Xet.
