A throne is the official chair or seat upon which a monarch is seated on state or ceremonial occasions. In the context of BDSM, 'throne' is used to describe any ornate chair designated as the seat for a mistress, or sometimes for a master. Thrones are commonly used in femdom play.
A throne is also a jocular term for a toilet seat.
