Effeminate

An effeminate male is one who is deliberately feminine in appearance or manner. He may have a high-pitched female voice, or female mannerisms or deportment. Some effeminate males regularly use make-up or have their hair long and styled in a female way. They may carry handbags, or even cross-dress on a full-time basis.
It is sometimes thought that all or most effeminate men are gay, but this is not the case. On the contrary, many gay men are butch.
