Jay Wiseman

Jay Joseph Wiseman (born 1949, New Albany, Indiana) is a prominent BDSM writer, speaker and practitioner. His popular book, SM 101: A Realistic Introduction, is considered to be one of the best introductory books on the subject. He is based in San Francisco, California, and was an emergency medical technician in the Oakland/East Bay Area.
He has been involved in BDSM since the mid-1970s, and in 1978 started the Gemini Society.
He also wrote a well-regarded introductory book on bondage called Jay Wiseman's Erotic Bondage Handbook (first published 1992; severl editions) and other books dealing with the enhancement of sex life. Since 1998, he has been an expert witness on BDSM in various trials.
