Rule

Rules can be created and applied randomly by dominants as a tool for disorienting a sub, or by a sadist as a pretext to inflict punishment. These rules may be as arbitrary and capricious as the creator desires. They may be mutually inconsistent so that it is impossible to avoid breaking at least one of them, and they may be changed suddenly and without warning, possibly without even informing the sub.
Disciplinary measures are often taken in response to some 'rule' being broken.
