Stocking mask

A stocking mask is a mask made by pulling a stocking (or nowadays one leg of a pair of tights/pantyhose) over one's head. Although such a mask is transparent, the theory is that it is so tight that it distorts the wearer's features, making him or her unrecognisable.
Such masks are often supposed to be worn by bank robbers and similar criminals. They could equally be worn by a captor or other person in a scene.
