Wipipedia's 'Neutral' POV

My current view is that one of Wipipedia's advantages as a separate enttiy from Wikipedia is that it does NOT have to conform to the same definition of 'neutral point of view' to be useful and valid (just as it can assume a certain interest, and perhaps even knowledge, in BDSM/fetish).

Wikipedia has to cover matters from a general readership point of view and thus discuss the psychology and general social issues to effectively view matters from a vanilla perspective. This encyclopedia is dedicated to kink to start with and I think that its point of view can contain that slant and should be angled more sympathetically than the general coverage.

I hope for a discussion leading to consensus that will eventually be reflected in Wipipedia's 'Neutral point of view' statement.

We don't have a neutral point of view here. We start from the assumption that BDSM and fetish are good things and have little or nothing opposing that view. Ropeuser 10:07, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
It sort of applies in modified limited form -- personal experiences go on the various "Personal experiences" pages (not in the main articles), commercial links only go in limited appropriate locations, and we're still sort of striving to present a quasi-objective view within the general framework of BSDM assumptions -- people can certainly present their personal insights and expertise within articles, but idiosyncratic views that would not find any significant degree of acceptance among BDSM practictioners, or that directly contradict clearly-established facts, should be kept to a minimum.
